Terms of service

Last updated: May 6, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website and online booking tools operated by Emilie Hair Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”), and your visit to our studio for professional hair services. They cover use of our digital channels, appointments and services in person, and use of photographs and recordings for our website and social media.

By using our website, submitting a booking request, or receiving services at our studio, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our site or booking system. Our Privacy Policy should be read together with these Terms and describes how we handle personal information.

1. Who we are

Emilie Hair Studio operates a hair studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Contact: [email protected].

2. Website and online booking

2.1 License to use the site. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to access and use our website for personal, non-commercial purposes related to learning about our services and booking appointments.

2.2 Accurate information. You agree to provide accurate, current information when using our booking flow (name, email, phone, service selections, and any other fields we request). You must be legally able to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction, or have a parent or guardian act for you where required.

2.3 Booking requests. Online booking may create a request that we review before confirming. Availability shown on the site is subject to change. We may accept, decline, or propose an alternative time. A confirmed appointment is subject to our communication and any deposit or policy requirements we describe at booking or by email.

2.4 Booking. You may book through our website at https://book.emiliehair.com.

2.5 No misuse. You may not use the site or booking system to harass staff or other clients, transmit malware, scrape or overload our systems, impersonate another person, or break applicable law.

3. In-salon hair services

3.1 Professional services. Services are provided by licensed or qualified professionals in line with our training and studio standards. Descriptions and photos on our website and social channels illustrate the type of work we do; your results depend on your hair history, condition, and goals. We may recommend a consultation or patch test where appropriate (for example, corrective colour or certain chemical services).

3.2 Health and safety. You agree to disclose allergies, sensitivities, scalp or skin conditions, and medical factors that could affect a service. We may refuse or modify a service if we believe it is unsafe or unsuitable.

3.3 Pricing. Service menus and deposits shown online or in-studio are subject to change. Final pricing may be confirmed at your appointment based on hair length, density, time, and product used, unless we have agreed to a fixed quote in writing.

3.4 Products. Retail products sold at the studio are subject to manufacturer instructions and our return or exchange policy as communicated at purchase.

4. Cancellations, rescheduling, and no-shows

Our cancellation and late-arrival rules may be summarized during booking and in follow-up messages. The full policy is available at our cancellation policy page. By booking, you agree to review that policy. Fees or deposits described there may apply where permitted by law.

5. Photography, portfolio, and social media

5.1 Right to capture. While you are in our studio for a service, we may take photographs or short video of your hair (and, where your face is incidental or you agree to a portrait-style shot, your likeness) for business purposes, using our own staff or contractors.

5.2 License you grant us. Unless you opt out as described in section 5.4, you grant Emilie Hair Studio a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, edit, publish, and display those images and recordings—including your likeness where it appears—for:

  • our website and booking pages;
  • our professional social media accounts (including Instagram, Facebook, or other platforms we use);
  • printed or digital marketing, press, competitions, and education; and
  • internal training and quality review.

5.4 Opting out. If you do not want photos taken, or you do not want your images used online, tell your stylist or the front desk before or at the start of your appointment. We will respect reasonable requests where practicable. If you only object to certain uses (for example, no face showing on Instagram), say so and we will do our best to accommodate.

5.5 Minors and guests. If you bring a minor or another person who appears in a photo, you represent that you have the authority to agree to this section on their behalf or that their parent or guardian has agreed.

5.6 Our ownership. We retain all rights in our photos, videos, logos, and site content. You may not remove watermarks, crop out credits, or imply endorsement by Emilie Hair Studio without written permission.

6. Intellectual property

All text, graphics, logos, and layout on this website are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or exploit them for commercial use without prior written consent.

7. Disclaimers

The site and booking tools are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law in British Columbia and Canada, we disclaim warranties that are not mandatory under consumer protection laws.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Emilie Hair Studio and our team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the site, booking system, or services. Our total liability for any claim related to these Terms or your visit is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific appointment giving rise to the claim (or CAD $100 if no payment applies), except where limitation is prohibited by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is not allowed.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Emilie Hair Studio from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, misuse of the site, or misrepresentation of health or hair history, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the current version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be noted on our website or during booking where we are able to do so. Your continued use of the website, booking, or our services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes, subject to mandatory consumer protections where you reside.
